From Tiny Acorns
The HKD first Seedy Saturday seed swap event proved a huge success in February 2013 with lots of interest and seed sharing from young and old alike.
Youngsters enjoyed the chance to make seed bombs, pictured above, with locally sourced seeds as well as seed bird feeders and ‘egg heads’ made with cress seeds.
As well as a variety of seeds to swap and buy, the HKD stall at the Farmers Market in Hassocks included information on bee-friendly seeds to grow as well as delicious seed cake and flapjack to try.
The event was a great success and we will be building on this in the future with a planned seed swap early in 2014.
